Dr. Kathy
Owner, Veterinarian
Dr. Kathy was only five years old when her beloved childhood dog had an unfortunate encounter with a car. Having to say goodbye to her treasured companion at such an early age made a permanent impact—Dr. Kathy vowed in that moment to keep all of the pets that she possibly could happy and healthy. Her dream never wavered, and she’s now served as a veterinarian for nearly 30 years!
Dr. Kathy grew up in eastern Baltimore, Maryland, working in her family’s wholesale bakery—it was there that she learned the value of exceptional customer service. Dr. Kathy continued on to obtain her Bachelor’s degree in animal science from the University of Maryland, and earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Tennessee. Upon graduating in 1990, she returned to Baltimore to work as an Associate Veterinarian, then purchased a clinic in North East, Maryland in 1997.
Dr. Kathy relocated to Clearwater, Florida in 2016 and purchased what would become Dr. Kathy’s Veterinary Care in August of the following year. She’s been serving the area’s pets and animal parents here ever since! She’s particularly fond of educating pet owners on the best care techniques for their animal friends, and her favorite part of the job is developing lasting friendships with the area’s families as the years go by.
Away from the office, Dr. Kathy enjoys staying active in her church and spending time with her daughters, Rachel and Becca. She shares her home with two cats: Carmel, a longhaired Calico who likes to pose on the coffee table so that everyone can admire her, and Sammy, who enjoys knocking loose objects off the countertops just to watch them fall.
